Upgraded Rose Valley Community Park to open next summer

The City of Oshawa has announced that construction is well underway on Rose Valley Community Park, located at 1095 Thornton Road North, north of Rossland Road and south of Taunton Road.

The overall project will include:

  • multiple children’s playground structures designed for variety of age groups and activity levels
  • benches, shaded rest areas and accessible washrooms
  • pickleball courts
  • expanded BMX bike park
  • accessible enhancements, including pathways, play structures and a fully accessible strider bike path
  • a formal garden area
  • walking trails and pathways
  • a new parking lot with 8 accessible spaces
  • a pedestrian crossing at Deer Valley Drive

The new park is scheduled to open in summer 2025.

The city had announced in October last year that major construction at the Rose Valley Park was to begin within a week (see earleir report below).
