Major construction at Rose Valley Park to begin next week

Oshawa yesterday advised community members that the city will be undertaking construction of the Rose Valley Community Park including, site grading, pathways, playground, site furnishings, signage, and plantings.

Work is scheduled to begin at the 1095 Thornton Road North site next week, and last until the summer of 2025.

The city said for public safety, the Rose Valley Community Park will be closed and fenced during construction. The BMX Park and parking lot too will be closed to users once construction begins.

From time to time, heavy equipment will need to access the site from Thornton Road, and associated noise levels may increase during these times.
There will also be intermittent disruptions to the multi-use path along Thornton Road to facilitate construction.

The city said regular work hours will take place between 7 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Construction will shut down for a period of time over the winter, and the site will remain closed and secure.
