Starting Thursday, October 19 at 10 am, Whitby residents and businesses who usually receive curbside pickup can drop off their garbage and green bin waste at the McKinney Centre temporary waste drop-off location.
The town municipality is currently witnessing a labour strike.
A town statement said the McKinney Centre waste drop-off location will be open from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 8 pm.
On Saturday, the timings are from 9 am to 8 pm, and on Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm.
The site is closed between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm due to school dismissal time.
The first temporary location at Iroquois Park Sports Centre that opened on Wednesday, October 18 at 9 am, will accept waste from Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 8 pm, and on Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Additional drop-off sites will be considered based on community and operational needs, the town said.
