Wanted impaired man on e-mobike held, drugs seized

A male wanted on outstanding firearm charges has been arrested following an impaired investigation that resulted in numerous drugs being seized.

On Tuesday, September 27 at around 9:55 pm, members of East Division were proactively patrolling the area of Baseline Road and Liberty Street South in Bowmanville when they came across an electric motorcycle operating at excessive speeds in an unsafe manner.

Police conducted a traffic stop and observed the driver to be impaired. The male was arrested and found to be in possession of a large quantity of cocaine, carfentanil, and cash. The male was also arrested on outstanding firearm charges stemming from a previous investigation, said a police statement.

The 37-year old from Clarington was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Large quantities of drugs found Oshawa

Police said a male is facing drug charges after a search warrant was conducted at a residence in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, September 27, members of Central West Division were called to a break-and-enter in progress at a residence in the area of Winter Words Drive and Windfields Farm Drive East in Oshawa.

Police cleared the residence and did not locate any suspects. However, numerous drugs were observed in plain view. Members of the Drug Enforcement Unit were contacted and a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant was sought. After the execution of the warrant a large quantity of drugs were located and seized. As a result a male was taken into custody without incident, said a police statement.
