What was wrong with Durham police website portal?

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday put out a tantalizing notice that there was an issue with one of the portals on its website – but it did not say what.

“We are aware of an issue affecting the data displayed on our Community Safety Data Portal and are actively working to resolve it,” said a brief notice.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to restore accurate information. Updates will be shared as they become available,” the notice added.

The DRPS portal in question has, on the bottom right hand side, a button for an email link to submit website feedback.

But till last night if one clicked the bright orange button entitled ‘Quick Escape’ it led to you a Google Search landing page.
