Which 28 Clarington roads to be impacted by summer repairs

The Municipality of Clarington has announced that road construction crews will begin surface improvement work across various parts of the community from May to September.

The work, aimed at maintaining road safety and connectivity, includes drainage improvements, asphalt reclamation, grading, resurfacing, and slurry seal applications. During this time, motorists may experience temporary lane closures, short-term road closures, and travel delays in affected areas.

According to the municipality, crews will work to ensure there is no disruption to waste collection or mail delivery. Timelines for the work are approximate and may shift depending on weather and other conditions.

The following roads will undergo surface improvement work:

  • Brownsville Court (from Brownsville Road to the east end – 160 m)
  • Brownsville Road (from Highway 2 to the south end turnaround – 670 m)
  • Brownsville Road (from Durham Highway 2 to the north end – 1,220 m)
  • Browview Road (from Durham Highway 2 to the east end – 300 m)
  • Carscadden Road (from Concession Road 8 to the north end – 1,000 m)
  • Concession Road 10 (from Highway 35 to the east end turnaround – 810 m)
  • Crego Road (from Osborne Road to Megawatt Drive – 890 m)
  • Gilmore Road (from Concession Road 5 to Concession Road 6 – 2,010 m)
  • Grasshopper Park Road (from Nelson Lane to the northern limit of Haydon – 590 m)
  • Maynard Road (from Concession Road 8 to the north end – 660 m)
  • Middle Road (from Concession Road 6 to Concession Road 7 – 2,070 m)
  • Old Mill Street (from Kendal Church Street to the west end – 130 m)
  • Solina Road (from 150 m north of Dorset Street to Concession Road 7 – 990 m)
  • Thertell Road (from Langstaff Road to Cold Springs Camp Road – 1,810 m)

In addition, several rural roads will receive slurry seal treatment to extend their lifespan and improve surface conditions. These roads include:

  • Concession Road 5 (from 100 m east of Station Road to 4340 Concession Road 5 – 6,900 m)
  • Concession Road 6 (from Newtonville Road to Shiloh Road – 1,550 m)
  • Cooney Road (from Ganaraska Road to Concession Road 8 – 1,960 m)
  • Jewel Road (from Concession Road 6 to the south end – 1,030 m)
  • Jewel Road (from Concession Road 6 to Ganaraska Road – 2,160 m)
  • Langmaid Road (from Concession Road 7 to Durham Regional Road 3 – 1,970 m)
  • Middle Road (from Concession Road 7 to Concession Road 8 – 1,980 m)
  • Middle Road (from Concession Road 8 to Durham Regional Road 20 – 2,060 m)
  • Old Scugog Road (from Salter Court to Concession Road 9 – 1,430 m)
  • Ovens Road (from Highway 2 to the south end turnaround – 630 m)
  • Vickers Road (from Concession Road 5 to Concession Road 6 – 2,270 m)
  • Reid Road (from Highway 2 to 1 km north – 1,000 m)
  • Leask Road (from Concession Road 6 to the north end – 150 m)
  • Tamblyn Road (from Highway 35/115 to 454 m north of Highway 35/115 – 450 m)
