Update: Senior struck by school bus in Oshawa has died

Durham police have confirmed that a 68-year-old woman who was struck by a school bus in Oshawa last month has died from her injuries.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 23, at about 2:45 pm, when officers from Central East Division responded to a collision at Simcoe Street South and Mill Street. According to police, the woman was hit by a school bus while crossing Simcoe Street South (see below).

She was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre in life-threatening condition. Police now report that she succumbed to her injuries on Monday, May 5.

Members of the Collision Investigations Unit continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
