Woman wielding machete in public released on undertaking

Durham Police yesterday said a female is facing charges after waving a machete-style knife at a male in Ajax.

On Saturday, October 19, at about 2:55 pm, members of West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Harwood Avenue South and Kings Crescent.

A female was reportedly swinging a machete-style knife and pointing it at a male in the plaza. Officers arrived on scene and located the female who was taken into custody.

The victim did not suffer any physical injuries, police said.

The female, age 25 from Toronto, was charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
