Woman with gunshot wounds found in residential complex

Durham Police were called to a residential complex in Pickering Thursday night, after receiving reports of a shooting.

On October 12 at about 10:50 pm, members from West Division responded to a residential complex located at 1580 Kingston Road in Pickering.

This was in response to reports of a person being shot. Upon arrival, officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries, said a police statement.

Police are asking anyone who was in the vicinity of the complex when the shooting occurred, and might have information to come forward. They are also urging any witnesses who may have captured video footage on security cameras or cellphones on their cellphones to come forward.
