Works on second half of DSBRT project get underway today

Construction is scheduled to begin on the second half of the Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit (DSBRT) along Kingston Road (Regional Highway 2) from today (April 20).

The construction will take place until July 2027 from the section of Rotherglen Road to some 300 metres west of Harwood Avenue in the Town of Ajax.

Lane shifts and lane restrictions will be in place during off-peak times.

Traffic Restrictions

Beginning fall this year, Kingston Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction for longer durations to facilitate construction of the new median transit stop platforms.

Bus routes, bus stops, sidewalks and businesses will remain open for the duration of construction.

There may be potential impacts during the work. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.

This project is partially funded through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
