Your water and sanitary sewer user rates may change

Durham Region has announced that the proposed 2024 Water and Sanitary Sewer User Rate By-law may change the various water and sanitary sewer rates and other related fees and charges.

The new charges will be effective January 1, 2024.

It said the 2024 Water Supply and Sanitary Sewage User Fee Report will be available upon request, on Friday, December 8. “Comments from the public are welcome.”

The by-law will be discussed at a Finance and Administration Committee meeting on December 12, following which, it will be considered by the Regional Council at a meeting to be held on December 20, the region said.

  1. We already pay WAY too much for sanitary sewer rates. How I pay more for what goes out than I pay for what comes in is absolutely absurd! Don’t make it worse!
