25-year old woman stabs 56-year old man after altercation

A 56-year-old man was taken to a local hospital after a stabbing in Oshawa Tuesday morning.

On October 19 at about 9 am, officers from Central East Division were called to the area of Albert Street near Banting Avenue for a stabbing. The victim was involved in an altercation with the suspect prior to being stabbed. The female suspect fled from the residence and was arrested shortly after by police.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, said a police statement.

Emma Jessen, age 25, of Albert Street is charged with: Assault Cause Bodily Harm; Assault with a Weapon; Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public; Fail to Comply with Probation Order; Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Schedule I Substance. She was held for a bail hearing.

Police did not reveal if the two were related.
