Daylight theft of two vehicles from Courtice homes

Officers from Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) East Division are asking residents if they have any information, or CCTV coverage from October 13/14, regarding two separate vehicle thefts in Courtice.

Police said during early morning hours of October 13, a man stole a 2021 Volkswagen SUV from a Cale Avenue residence. Prior to that, a silver four-door sedan was captured on surveillance cameras dropping of the suspect on Cale Avenue.

Police are looking for video footage from Cale Avenue on October 13 between 7 am and 7:30 am, which shows the suspect silver vehicle in the Cale Avenue and Meadowvale Road area.

On October 14, between 11 am and 3:30 pm, unknown suspects stole a grey 2006 Toyota Sienna from a Huntington Crescent home.

Homeowners in the area are being asked to check video footage, if any, for suspicious vehicles and/or activity. Police said the time frame will be updated as information is received.

“It is possible both cases are related and the silver vehicle might be involved in both incidents,” said a police statement.
