Whitby council has received an application to rezone some land to permit the building of a car wash.
The land is located on the southwest corner of Winchester Road East and Thickson Road North, and is approximately 0.86 hectares (2.1 acres) in size.
Currently the lot is occupied by an existing convenience store, Tim Hortons drive through, gas bar, and car wash.
The existing car wash will be demolished, and a new structure will be built within the southern portion of the land. The existing convenience store and gas bar are to remain.
The surrounding land uses include:
- Residential to the north and northeast;
- A car dealership to the west;
- A gas bar (Petro) / Tim Hortons drive through to northeast; and
- Vacant land to the south and east
