The Town of Ajax is extending the boardwalk from Duffins Marsh to Rotary Park.
It is also elevating existing trail from dynamic beach and marsh area to create a safe and accessible walkway for all trail users. It said modifications are required in response to lake and creek water levels and bank erosion.
The town said the trail has been closed from west of Rotary Park to east of Duffins Marsh. It said construction equipment has moved on-site. Works are projected to be over by the end of June this year.
