Bar fracas leads to gun leads to three arrests

Durham Police officers arrested three suspects after locating a loaded handgun in downtown Whitby over the weekend.

On Sunday, December 11 at about 1:08 am, members of Central West  Division responded to a fight call at The Tap and Tankard bar on Brock Street South. There was a large disturbance involving several patrons and there was mention of a knife being involved. Police arrested the fleeing suspects nearby. K-9 Unit searched the area and located a loaded firearm in a nearby area.

The three suspects were charged with numerous firearms-related charges, said a police statement. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.

DRPS K-9 Unit said after a short foot chase with DRPS Central West Division involving a possible armed person incident, PC Wes King and K9 Klutch were called to search for a ‘ditched weapon.
