Works on Beaverton Harbour Waterfront project start this year

The Beaverton Harbour Waterfront and Open Space Master Plan have been approved to be kickstarted this year, according to Mike Jubb, Brock Deputy Mayor and Regional Councillor.

“As for full costing, staff are still working on a report with costing and phasing moving forward,” he told Durham Post.

The two projects were part of the Township of Brock 2025 budget and are included in the municipality’s master plan.

First, in partnership with the Beaverton Lions Club Ontario, a 30 by 40ft Pavilion will be installed, this spring. In consultation with the Lions, and other user groups, this will be installed between both diamonds and will be a great addition to the fairground property. I would like to thank the Beaverton Lions for a $25,000 donation towards the pavilion, explained Jubb.

He said the municipality will be covering the remainder.

The new Beaverton Harbour permanent washroom facilities will be installed near the current location and all design work, soil testing and other architectural work will commence in 2025, with a planned installation date of next year.

“This is exciting news and is only the beginning of a very long and detailed plan that council has been very clear they do not want to see sit on a shelf somewhere and collect dust. Investing in budget 2025 shows that we are serious about this plan. Much more to follow…,” said Jubb.
