What Had Happened

The Regional Municipality of Durham yesterday announced road closures on Adelaide Avenue East and Wilson Road South due to ongoing watermain break repairs.

The road closures were in place on Adelaide Avenue East from Central Park Boulevard North to Dover Street, and on Wilson Road South from Hillcroft Drive to Colborne Street East.

The region said businesses and residents in the area bounded from Stevenson Road North to Harmony Road North, and from King Street East to Rossland Road East in Oshawa, may have experienced a temporary water service interruption or low water pressure for the duration of the repair.

It had advised that when the water service returned to normal, customers should turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for some five to 10 minutes to clean out any sediment that may have accumulated. This was to avoid any sediment entering the hot water system.
