Caught speeding with snow removal lights on but not at work

A driver was stopped by authorities after being caught speeding 118 kmh in an 80 kmh zone while operating a pickup truck with snow removal lights activated, despite not being on a work site.

The incident occurred at Bowmanville Avenue and Clarington Concession Road 10, according to a statement posted on social media.

Authorities remind drivers that snow removal lights should only be used when actively engaged in snow-clearing operations.

They also said exceeding speed limits poses a risk to all road users.
