Three youths charged after robbery attempt at Oshawa Centre

Three young males are facing charges after allegedly threatening another youth with a knife in an attempt to steal his belongings at the Oshawa Centre.

On Sunday, January 19, at about 4:05 pm, officers from DRPS Central East Division responded to a report of an armed person at the Oshawa Centre, located at 419 King Street East.

According to police, four young males approached a 16-year-old male and demanded his sweater and phone while making threats with a knife. Officers conducted a search of the mall and located three of the suspects, who were taken into custody without incident. The fourth suspect remains outstanding.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries, police said.

Three 13-year-old males from Whitby have each been charged and all three were released on an undertaking.

The fourth suspect is described as a male, about 13-17 years old, wearing a black jacket with a fur-lined hood, black pants, and grey/white shoes.
