Driver who had to be extracted after crashing into tree, charged

Durham Police said a male has been charged after the completion of a collision investigation that began in July.

On Friday, July 19, at about 5:20 pm, members of North Division responded to the report of a single motor vehicle collision on Uxbridge Concession Road 7, south of Chalk Lake Road, in Uxbridge.

A white GMC Sierra, driven by a 47-year-old male, was travelling southbound when it lost control, failed to negotiate the curve, entered the east ditch, and struck some trees. The driver was extracted by Uxbridge Fire Services and airlifted via Air Ornge to a Toronto area trauma centre (see earlier story below).

On Wednesday, November 20, members of the Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) concluded their investigation and charged the involved driver.

A 47-year-old male from Keswick was charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Anyone with information regarding this collision or the activities of the involved party before the collision is requested to contact D/Cst Lee of the Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) at 905-579-1520 x 5231.
