Fare increase coming for DRT riders in July

Durham Region Transit (DRT) has announced fare increases that will take effect on July 1.

Durham Region said it is part of a broader strategy to improve public transit services across the region. The new fare structure, part of DRT’s 10-year service and financing strategy, supports efforts to expand and modernize transit access while continuing to serve the growing needs of residents and visitors.

Public transit plays a critical role in supporting economic development, access to employment and education, and connecting inclusive communities. DRT says it is committed to enhancing service frequency, expanding the transit network, exploring new technologies, and investing in modern infrastructure.

The updated fares, compared to current rates, are outlined below:

Adult fares
