New park opens in north Clarington’s growing community

The Municipality of Clarington has opened a new neighbourhood park in north Bowmanville. On June 14, residents of the Northglen community gathered for the opening of Middle Park, a new outdoor space designed for families to connect, play and relax.

“This new park is such a perfect way to say, ‘Welcome home!’ to the many new families living in north Bowmanville,” said Mayor Adrian Foster. “With the neighbourhood growing so quickly, it feels special to create a space where kids can laugh in the splash pad, parents can unwind on a bench, and neighbours can connect at their local park.”

The opening event featured a range of free, family-friendly activities, including games, freezies and a scavenger hunt to explore the park’s new amenities. Children and families toured the playground, softball diamond, paved walkways and shaded seating areas.

Just after noon, the children were invited to join Mayor Foster in pressing the “magic button” to activate the splash pad for the very first time—officially launching the summer season in the community.

Located at 3301 Middle Road, Middle Park is now open to the public. Residents can find more information about Clarington’s parks and splash pads at www.clarington.net/Parks.
