Father critical after being stabbed by son

A suspect was arrested after a man was stabbed and another male wounded in a domestic-related incident Tuesday night in Ajax.

On January 12 at about 8:40 pm, members of West Division responded to a residence in the area of Delaney Drive and Westney Road North in Ajax for a stabbing. Officers located a 57-year-old male victim with a life-threatening injury. He was taken to a Toronto-area trauma hospital where he remains in critical condition. A second 24-year-old male victim sustained a serious but non-life-threatening injury after being wounded and was taken to a local hospital. He has since been released, said a police statement.

The suspect, who is the 57-year-old victim’s son and brother of the 24-year-old victim, was arrested and is facing numerous charges.

The 24-year-old male from Ajax is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Assault Cause Bodily Harm; Assault with a Weapon; Assault and Possess Weapon for Committing an Offence.

He was held for a bail hearing.
