Durham Police said the third suspect in the Newtonville shooting from June 2022 has been located and taken into custody.
On Sunday, June 19, 2022, at about 1:45 am, DRPS say they were dispatched to an armed person call in the area of Newtonville Road and Concession Road 4. Two males were located suffering from gunshot wounds and taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. An additional male attended a local hospital suffering from stab wounds, and was transported to a Toronto trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators from the East Division Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) say they conducted an extensive investigation and identified three suspects. On Thursday, March 23, 2023, members of the East Division CIB arrested two men. The third suspect remained outstanding.
On Tuesday, December 17, officers say the third suspect was located and taken into custody without incident.
A 22-year-old male of No Fixed Address was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
