Five 15- to 41-year olds charged in Oshawa shooting

Durham Police yesterday said they are investigating after a 24-year-old male was shot in Oshawa.

Police believe the shooting was targeted and have now arrested five people who they believe to be responsible.

On May 20 at about 7:30 pm, members from Central East Division were dispatched to a disturbance call in the area of Wentworth Street West and Glen Street. When they arrived, they located a conscious male suffering from a gunshot wound, said a police statement.

He was taken to a Toronto trauma centre where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The five suspects from Oshawa, who range in age from 15- to 41-year old, have been charged.

A 15-year-old female and 16-year-old male both of Oshawa have also been charged with Aggravated Assault. The youth male faced an additional charge of Disguise with Intent. The female was released on an Undertaking and the male was held for bail.
