Former Newcastle Fire Hall building to be demolished

Starting the week of April 15, the Municipality of Clarington will begin to demolish the former Newcastle Fire Hall, located at 247 King Street East.

The land will be up in future for sale.

The building was decommissioned in 2014 when the new Alfred Alldread Fire Station opened on Highway 2 in Newcastle.

The site was also used as a temporary location for GO Transit buses to turn around. Metrolinx has since rerouted its buses through Newcastle using Edward Street, said a Clarington statement.

  1. Would it not be best of talking about the old firehall to actually use a photo of it, not another building, poor reporting at very best.
