A 35-year-old former nurse has been arrested in connection with thefts from residents at long-term care homes in Oshawa and Bowmanville, according to Durham police.
Police say that on Tuesday, June 3, members of the East Division Criminal Investigations Branch began looking into reports of a woman entering care homes and stealing from residents. The suspect allegedly accessed rooms within the facilities and took personal belongings.
Investigators were able to identify the woman and arrested her at her residence on Thursday, June 6.
Police have released a photo and description of the suspect, as they believe there may be additional victims. She is described as a White female with a medium build and red hair, wearing a pink and purple scrub top and dark-coloured pants.
A 35-year-old woman, of Clarington, is facing charges. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
