Pickering Fire Services is inviting community members to attend an event celebrating Sparky the Fire Dog’s birthday on Friday, March 14, from 10 am to 1 pm at Pickering Fire Headquarters, 1700 Zents Drive.
Officials stated that the free event will include several activities:
- Fire truck tours – Attendees can view Pickering’s fire trucks and equipment.
- Educational activities and demonstrations – Fire prevention and safety tips will be provided.
- Meet & Greet with Sparky – Visitors can take photos with Sparky the Fire Dog.
“We are looking forward to celebrating Sparky’s birthday while reinforcing the importance of fire safety,” said Fire Chief, Steve Boyd. “This event offers a fantastic opportunity for community members to connect with Pickering Fire Services and engage in meaningful discussions about fire prevention, as well as simple steps everyone can take at home to protect themselves and their loved ones from fire.”
In place of a gift for Sparky, Pickering Fire Services will accept non-perishable donations, officials stated.
