The Town of Ajax had scheduled a host of road upgrades across the town including at Rossland Road East.
The town retained Forest Contractors for the 2026 road resurfacing project, which was scheduled to start on July 10 and end on July 15, conditions permitting. The value of the contract was not mentioned.
Works on the Rossland Road East included:
- Adjusting existing catch basins and maintenance holes, and
- Removing and replacing sections of asphalt roadway surface

Forest Contractors Ltd was contracted for this road resurfacing project.
Works included:
- Removing and replacing sections of concrete curb and sidewalk,
- Adjusting existing catch basins and maintenance holes,
- Removing and replace asphalt roadway surface, and
- Driveway, topsoil and sod restoration, as required conditions for reference during and after the work.
Simpson Road and Follett Court
Forest Contractors were also doing this road resurfacing project.
Works included:
- Removing and replacing sections of concrete curb and sidewalk,
- Adjusting existing catch basins and maintenance holes,
- Removing and replacing asphalt roadway surface, and
- Driveway, topsoil and sod restoration, as required conditions for reference during and after the work conditions for reference during and after the work.
Lake Driveway West
Forest Contractors also did this project.

Pre-Construction Activities
Utility Locates: Underground utilities (gas, water, and telecommunications) were to be identified and marked prior to construction to prevent service disruptions.
Pre-Construction Photographs: Photographs of existing roadway and boulevard conditions were to be taken prior to construction to document baseline conditions for reference during and after the work.
