Resident action has helped identify a female involved in the use of a counterfeit dollar note at the Walmart store in Bowmanville.
However, police are still looking for a male who used counterfeit currency to purchase goods.
On Saturday, May 4, a female and unknown male attended the Walmart store where counterfeit currency was used to purchase goods. The suspect male is also being investigated for similar incidents in other regions, said a police report.
The suspect is described as: male, White, 21-35 years-old, 5’11” tall, with a thin build and brown hair. He was seen wearing black sunglasses, a black jacket, white shirt, dark pants, and white shoes.

The Durham Regional Police Service Financial Crimes Unit (FCU) wants to remind the community that counterfeit currency is still being circulated throughout the region. Everyone is encouraged to double check their bills when handling and receiving cash.
