I was slow in the school zone though: speedster

There are many excuses DRPS Traffic Services officers have heard over the years – most are familiar, but some manage to surprise them still.

One such case was reported on Tuesday when a speeding driver pleaded to be let go as the person was behaving themselves in the school zone.

The motorist was caught doing 82kmh in a 40-zone just after leaving a school zone.

Police said this stunt driving person explained: “I was slow in the school zone though”.

The driver was charged.

“Remember 40km or more in a zone <80km/hr> is stunt by way of excessive speed. Slow down, drive safe,” said officers of DRPS West Division.
