K9 Taz saves hurt, suicidal man from freezing to death

It’s just one feather in the cap of the Durham Regional Police Service K-9 Unit after another.

Not only are the hounds and their handlers instrumental in catching fleeing and hiding suspects, but they, from time to time, also save lives.

On Saturday, the police reported a missing suicidal man from Clarington.

PC Dunlop, K9 Taz  and DRPS East Division searched the area of south Bowmanville for a missing suicidal male, said the police.

K9 Taz quickly locked onto a track and located the male freezing and injured in thick brush. He was promptly transported to hospital for medical assistance, it said.

“Nice locate,” it added.
