Man held down and stabbed multiple times in road rage incident

Durham Police yesterday said a male is recovering from his injuries after being stabbed during a road rage incident in Whitby.

On Friday, March 29 at around 9:30 am, members from Central West Division responded to a stabbing call that occurred in the area of Stellar Drive between Thornton Road and Thickson Road in Whitby.

An altercation ensued between the victim and three unidentified male suspects, which was sparked by a driving dispute. As the confrontation escalated, the suspects used their vehicle to block in the victim’s vehicle. Two suspects approached the victim, one male held onto him while the second male stabbed him multiple times, said a police report.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle is described as a Black sedan.The suspects are described as:

  • Male, Black/Brown skin, long black hair, wearing sunglasses.
  • Male, Sri Lankan, curly hair and clean shaved face
  • Male, Sri Lankan, curly hair and clean shaved face, wearing a high visibility vest
