Man stole 16 times from Home Depot, caught and let go

An investigation into multiple Home Depot thefts in Oshawa and Bowmanville led to the arrest of one man who was accused of stealing over $5,800 in merchandise.

In May, investigators with the East Division Criminal Investigations Branch began an investigation into multiple thefts at Home Depot stores located in Bowmanville and Oshawa.

Investigators determined that between October 2025 and April 2026, the same male suspect committed 16 separate thefts resulting in the loss of over $5,800 in merchandise.

As a result of this investigation, police identified and located the suspect who was taken into custody without incident.

The 31-year old man from Clarington was released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
