Man tried to open multiple bank accounts with fake ID

Durham police yesterday said a man who tried to use fake ID to open bank accounts at multiple banks in Oshawa; is now facing charges.

On Friday, June 19 ,around 1:25 pm, members of Central West Division responded to a fraud call at the Scotiabank located at 2630 Simcoe Street North.

A man attended the bank and attempted to open an account using fraudulent identification. Officers arrived on scene and took the male into custody without incident.

The 39-year old man from East Gwillimbury was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
