Clarington Council has announced that it will consider a Recommendation Report on the Southeast Courtice Secondary Plan at today’s Planning and Development Committee Meeting at 7 pm.
A Statutory Public meeting on the development was held in June 2020,
More growth is coming to Courtice. The Southeast Courtice Secondary Plan will create a planning framework to allow the development of these lands into a pedestrian-friendly, transit-oriented neighbourhood with a diverse range of housing within walking distance to shopping, services, schools and amenities. A linked system of parks and trails will allow pedestrian travel throughout the area, said a council statement.

Private development applications
Urban Design and Sustainability Guidelines have also been prepared to advance the vision of the Secondary Plan. A later phase of the process will involve preparing the implementing zoning regulations, followed by private development applications for subdivision approval.
