Missing person found dead in Bowmanville fire-hit building

Durham Police said the Ontario Fire Marshal has located a deceased person inside the building where a large fire occurred last Thursday March 6.

Investigators say they are working to determine their identity. The gender of the deceased person or any further details were not released.

On Thursday, March 6, at about 12 am, members of East Division said they responded to the downtown Bowmanville area for an active fire. Clarington Fire was on scene and officers assisted in evacuating residents from the area.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office.
