Oshawa lowers seniors city recreation discounts age to 55+

City of Oshawa said residents 55-years of age and older now qualify for senior discounts on city recreation programs, memberships and admission fees.

City Council recently approved a new senior age requirement, lowering the minimum senior age from 65-years old to 55-years old, said a statement.

Residents 55-years of age and older, living in or paying property taxes in Oshawa, can now enjoy a 35 per cent discount on registered recreation programs and discounted rates on fitness memberships and admission fees for fitness centres, leisure swimming, leisure skating, and drop-in sports activities.

To receive the Oshawa Resident 55+ discount, visit a City of Oshawa recreation facility and provide government-issued identification with proof of age and residency.

Please note proof of age and residency is required each time the Oshawa Resident 55+ discount is requested for a registered program, membership, or leisure admission.
