The City of Oshawa yesterday said the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Phase 1 of Oshawa’s first BMX Bike Park, will be held on August 18.
Oshawa City Council and members of the local BMX community are expected to attend.
Phase 1 of the BMX Bike Park is a 5,000-square-metre dirt jump track. The track features bermed corners, rolling step ups/downs, rollers, double rollers and tilted rollers and is divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced tracks, said a city notice.
The facility is located at 1095 Thornton Road North (east side of Thornton Road North, south of the Oshawa Airport Golf Club).
