Park visitor alerts patrol of man critically hurt in assault

Durham Police said a male is in critical condition after being assaulted at a park in Oshawa.

On Tuesday, September 10 at about 7:45 pm, members of Central East Division were responding to a call in the area of Centre Street South and John Street West, when a bystander approached them to report an assault that had just taken place.

Officers were led to Memorial Park where they located a male who had sustained serious injuries. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where his injuries were determined to be critical. He was subsequently transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre. The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival, police said.
