Parks, schools, 2,500+ homes proposed in Seaton area

A major development proposal in Pickering could bring over 2,500 new homes and a mix of community amenities to Pickering’s Seaton Neighbourhood 18: Mount Pleasant.

The plan includes a revised draft subdivision featuring about 2,586 residential units, along with mixed-use spaces, schools, parks, a reservoir, and stormwater management facilities. The proposed development would span both east and west sides of Whites Road, just south of Whitevale Road, and covers land legally described as Part of Lots 25–28, Concession 4.

This revision modifies a previously approved draft plan of subdivision and is now moving through the city’s planning process.

As part of that process, the City of Pickering will host a Statutory Public Meeting on Monday, June 16, at 7 pm to present an Information Report on the proposal. While no decisions will be made at this stage, the meeting will give residents the chance to learn more and provide feedback.

The meeting will be held electronically and livestreamed via the City’s Meeting Calendar and YouTube channel. Residents are advised that the timing of the discussion may be delayed depending on the flow of the agenda.
