Green light for a 154 smaller homes community

Plans are progressing to develop a 154-home community in Oshawa, according to a city notice.

It said Official Plan Amendment 213 was passed on April 3 to redesignate certain lands east of Ritson Road North and north of Adelaide Avenue East, from Industrial within a Regeneration Area to Residential (see map below). The proposed Official Plan Amendment is exempt from approval by the Region of Durham.

The city said the effect of By-law 32-2023 is to permit 154 apartment units (stacked townhouses) with site-specific regulations related to:

Reduced interior side yard depths,

  • Reduced yard depths abutting Oshawa Boulevard North and Ritson Road North,
  • Reduced building height,
  • Increased lot coverage,
  • Reduced landscaped open space,
  • Reduced visitor parking and to
  • Permit tandem parking.

It said all written and oral submissions received by the City of Oshawa were considered in the making of this decision.

Map shows location of the lands to which By-law 32-2023 applies.
