Police get tough with loud cars after ‘numerous’ complaints

Durham residents are heard with numerous complaints leading to police crackdown on loud cars in a neighbourhood.

Officers from Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) Central West Division laid charges Sunday night in the area of Thickson Road North and Carnwith Drive East in relation to numerous complaints of vehicles with loud exhaust systems disturbing the peace, said the police.

Oshawa Traffic disruption: Meanwhile in Oshawa, DRPS yesterday announced road closures in the area of Lviv Bv and Albert Street for police investigation.

It said westbound 401 lanes between Ritson Road South and Simcoe Street South may also be affected.

No further announcement was made till late last night.

Meanwhile, DRPS reminded drivers to be alert and aware of surroundings when on the roads.

“Although we may have gained an hour of sleep [at] night, some may wake up still feeling drowsy which can impact your cognitive impairment,” it said.
