Police tip on how to lose your car in one simple step

DRPS Traffic Services yesterday gave a bit of advice to drivers in Durham – on how to lose your car in one simple step.

This was after a motorist was clocked driving 56kmh over the speed limit. That was not all; the driver was also weaving in and out of traffic.

But the cherry on top was the modified loud exhaust and no front plate (image below).

“This brings a new meaning to rush hour traffic,” said the police.

The incident happened on Victoria Street  in Whitby.

Washroom no excuse: DRPS Traffic Services said having to go to the washroom is not a suitable excuse for excessive speed.

Our officer wrote the ticket quickly at the request of the driver on this beautiful Tuesday morning, said a tweet (see top image).

“Slow down, plan ahead, and perhaps visit the washroom before driving,” it suggested.

Meanwhile, North Division Traffic conducted radar along Uxbridge Concession Road 6 at Old Stouffville Road.

Image below shows a car stopped after it was clocked at 88kmh, which police said was too fast in a 60kmh speed zone.

Another piece of advice from DRPS Traffic Services was a reminder if drivers needed another reason not to drink and drive.

“Think of the pain you could cause not just your self or your victims but also the families of all involved. Drive sober”.
