Power outages hit Oshawa Centre, 4,650 others

Oshawa Power had a busy time yesterday fixing power outages all across the city due to 65 km/h gusts during late morning thunderstorm. Till 6 pm the winds were still gusting at 48 km/h.

Among the 4,651 Oshawa Power customers, the most prominent establishments to be hit were Oshawa Centre and Oshawa Waste  Management Facility.

At 5:45 pm Oshawa Power reported: “We still have power out in the Oshawa Centre area. Our crews are on site and have found the cause. They are isolating the issue and are repairing – we expect restoration to be about 30 minutes. Thank you for your patience.”

Meanwhile, Oshawa Power announced an interruption to power supply north of Highway 407 on Friday, October 16 to safely carry out hydro improvements.
