Rotary fundraiser brings food trucks and festivities

The Bowmanville Rotary Club is inviting the community to its inaugural Street Eats Festival, set to take place June 28 and 29 at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex.

The weekend-long outdoor event will showcase a wide range of food trucks from across the region, offering an array of cuisines including Mexican, Middle Eastern, Greek, Canadian, and more. Local music, family entertainment, and a beverage tent featuring brews from Durham’s own Brock Street Brewery are also on the menu.

Attendees can expect fun for all ages, with face-painting, games, balloon art, clowns—and even a visit from Spiderman.

“We love bringing the community together for big events like these,” said Doug Sirrs, president of the Bowmanville Rotary Club. “Not just to see families having such a great time, but they also generate the funds we need to do the work of Rotary, which is so important. And we thank the community for that!”

Event organizer Laurie Suikki added, “We’re thrilled to be hosting our first-ever Street Eats Party! Join us for a one-of-a-kind fundraiser that helps Rotary serve others here in our community and round the world. Let’s celebrate how wonderful our town is!”
