A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a string of armed robberies that occurred in Whitby and Oshawa earlier this year, according to police.
Between April 6 and April 24, four robberies were reported involving a suspect who allegedly pointed a black handgun at store employees before fleeing with items including cash, cigarettes, cannabis products, and lottery tickets.
Durham Regional Police say that with support from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, investigators were able to identify the suspect. On June 11, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Oshawa, where they seized a replica firearm, cannabis, and a quantity of psilocybin. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
A 41-year-old male of Oshawa, was charges and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
