Seven day suspension…if caught on phone for second time

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) today reminded that drivers incur an automatic seven-day licence suspension if caught with a hand-held device for the second time.

This point was brought to the attention of the driver of this Mercedes car (above), along with a fine of $615 and three demerit points, according to officers from DRPS East Division.

“Do you know that if you get caught a 2nd time on your cell phone  = 7-day suspension? Well, this driver found out!” said a police tweet.

The incident happened at Lambs Road and Third Concession in Bowmanville, Clarington.

“Not good. Distracted driving can cause loss of life,” the tweet added.
