Several ongoing lane restrictions in Oshawa and Whitby

The Regional Municipality of Durham has notified of several ongoing lane restrictions in Oshawa and Whitby.

It said there are lane restrictions on Park Road, south of John Street, in Oshawa due to ongoing watermain break repairs. No completion date has been announced.

The region said businesses and residents in the area may be experiencing a temporary water service interruption or decrease in water pressure for the duration of the repair. When the water service returns to normal, it is important for customers to turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for approximately five to 10 minutes to clean out any sediment that may have accumulated in the water service. This will avoid any sediment entering the hot water system.

The region also announced lane restrictions on Stellar Drive (Regional Road 25), Champlain Avenue (Regional Road 25A) and Thornton Road (Regional Road 52) in the Town of Whitby and City of Oshawa.

These are ongoing until September 22, to safely perform road surface asphalt paving.

The region asked drivers to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews. Access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible, it added.
